Bekay – “I Am” (produced by Alchemist)
Posted on October 27, 2009 by Chris Faraone

I’m sure this is the sort of track that those of you who think hip-hop blows but who come here every day anyway are sure to bitch about. After all – it’s hard, stuffed with rugged boom bap punches, and, most importantly, produced by
Alchemist, who, last time I checked, has yet to concede that superficial frequencies are the taste du jour.
Bekay’s November 8 release, Hunger Pains, arrived on my doorstep yesterday, and I’m already on my fifth listen. A more detailed review is sure to come shortly, but for now I’ll say that it has not a single weak link, and can be held in the same hardcore acclaim that M.O.P.’s Foundation found earlier this year. Eat this single – it’s just a sample of the meal to come.
