Show Reviews For That Stank Ass: Jay-Z, Asher Roth, and Kid Cudi
Posted on July 15, 2009 by Chris Faraone

I’ve been reviewing shows like a guy who’s about to turn 30. Because I am. And it’s fun. Fuck growing up. This past week I checked Jay-Z at Mohegan Sun and Asher Roth, Kid Cudi, and 88-Keys at the House of Blues in Boston. Excerpts from my reviews below, along with links to my full coverage and videos. Read. Absorb. Talk trash. That’s what you’re here for.
From Jay-Z at Mohegan Sun…
For imposter pimps in top hats, frighteningly dumb suburban barbarians, and hypocritical hip-hop frauds like me, Jay-Z’s Mohegan Sun show this past Friday was a gala shindig complete with pre-and-after-party gambling and boozing. Chief Big Bucks from Mohegan isn’t dumb; not since Sinatra has an artist been so capable of pitching material fantasies to fools willing to wager their entire paychecks on black.
From Asher Roth and Kid Cudi at House of Blues…
Asher Roth drove a go-cart on stage with the Saved by the Bell theme song playing in the background. Did you hear what I said? Asher Roth drove a go-cart on stage with the Saved by the Bell theme song playing in the background. I’ve seen groupies get fucked and people get stabbed at rap shows, but this one I never imagined.

that jay-z review is spot on. i saw him a couple weeks ago in chicago and though he could’ve rocked for at least 2 more hours easily. he played for an hour and a half and it seems like he only played one or 2 songs off of every album (aside from the black album).
Throw your illuminati symbols in the sky!!!
kiD cuDi was DOPE dude – that show was HOTTTT!!!
when was the last time there was standing room only at the house of blues/avalon besides maybe the dropkicks…c’mon cudi’s album isn’t out yet and he did about 15 songs and EVERYONE knew the words….that says……A LOT
