You’re looking at the display in my local bodega for a ridiculous hood liquor called Nuvo. It wasn’t selling well before, but once they put the bottles behind a glass case that requires a store manager to open with a key, they can’t keep it on the shelves. Sounds ridiculous – I know – but it’s true. Nuvo riche indeed.
I’m not saying this stuff is necessarily bad, though I’m sure it is since it’s fucking pink. But I really can’t get over the fact that people would be attracted to a bottle because it’s locked up in a ridiculous bourgeois aisle-side fortress. And if heads are just copping because the ad has a pic of Fabolous holding a bottle – then they’re especially stupid.
This hip-hop shit really embarrasses me sometimes…
