Scion Radio Debuts New iPhone App

Besides that brief period when we looked cool (followed by the long, currently running period where we look like semi-function social douche bags), most of my fellow iPhone owners probably picked up the device for everything BUT the phone; I’d say mainly for the iPod and killer apps that make Apple’s golden child much more of a spectacular media device than functional telephone. As an owner of a first-generation iPhone, I’ve spent the last couple of years trying to get the most out of this bitch, and I’ve tried virtually every radio/music app worth noting.
This one is worth nothing, music fans.
Although it was previously available through a third-party radio app (I used Tuner), Scion Radio finally got smart and produced a stand-alone app for accessing their amazing selection of custom-built radio stations. I when I say amazing, I mean they 17 stations of commercial-free, HQ streaming music, each based around a particular theme or sponsor (from Turntable Lab to Vice Magazine to Wax Poetics to The Rub with DJ Eleven and Cosmo Baker). If you are looking for Pandora’s open-ended radio with some added fine tuning from top notch curators, this is the spot. The iPhone app just makes everything easier, with one-touch station access, plus new remix projects and artist interviews as well. You paid all that money for your iPhone, so don’t waste it by letting this (FREE) one slip by.
