The 50 Tightest Hip-Hop Tracks of 2009
Posted on December 17, 2009 by Chris Faraone

Before you bitch about how bad my list is, please remember how much more new music I listen to than most of you assbeads. I’m also sorry if your roommate’s mixtape didn’t make the cut, but that Air Supply sampled is hella played out.
I’m not suggesting that these are the absolute best 50 tracks of 2009; more than anything else, this compendium is a testament to how much phenomenal hip-hop continues spilling despite the hating and pessimism that flood the rap blogosphere.
With that said; I encourage heads to comment about fresh singles that I might have missed. But until you’ve checked every one of these cuts, you’re a schmuck to lambaste my taste.
So happy holidays. This is my gift to anyone who constantly claims that boom bap has been stagnant since 1996. Acquaint yourselves with these gems and then talk to me.

Little Young? are you fucking serious?
Masta Ace is a Top 5 rapper for me, no question, but that song is trash just like the rest of that A&E album.
You probably think I’m a hater & you’re god damn right I am, but that dsnt mean I’m wrong.
You’ve got srsly horrible taste in music & thats aside from being a shitty blogger & an NY native that relocated to fucking boston of all places like a backward ass wigger version of Guru.
I dnt care how many second rate newspapers youve written for or how many washed-up mags u write for, youre fucking trash.
Leave shit like this to ppl who matter.
Nobody cares about ur lackluster 2009 on-the-go iPod playlist.
XOXO
hahaha WOW!
Everyone is entitled to their opinion & we dnt all have to like the same shit, but lets b honest.
There was a lot of good music to drop this year & if you think that “Little Young” is a note-worthy track from ‘09 you dnt deserve to be talking hip-hop.
Period.

I’m glad to see that Ol’ Dirty Needle made the cut. He’s finally getting the recognition he deserve.
“backward ass wigger version of Guru.”
Jay Electronica “Exhibit C” should be on there….”New Wu” from Raekwon….maybe even do i dare say “The One” by Slaughterhouse…”New York (Duck For Cover)” by DJ Spinna where he flips the intro from Beat It…
Of course shock jock on & on mentions the only comment about race. Wow. too funny. all he talks bout. He looks white tho
I’m lovein that list!! Next year let’s hope things change and that’s the top 50 ASCAP list!!
[...] want heads to give Boston dudes even half the chance they deserve. My designating so many spots on my year-end singles list to local artists is not a mere statement; rappers and producers in these parts have kept me [...]
[...] a treasure trove of pure music industry nerdus. This stuff is hilarity on the lvls not seen since Wite’s ethering of Chris Faraone in the comments section of this post here (BTW, Faraone still thinks Wite and I are the same person, which speaks volumes about how I’m [...]
is it not reasonable to ask if an end of the year list deserves some embedding? let the people hear this shit
