All Sorts of FREE Shit from Backwoodz Studioz

Posted on November 10, 2009 by Chris Faraone

Super Chron Flight Brothers are without-a-doubt one of the most slept-on acts in underground hip-hop – and that’s not just cheap blog hyperbole. Their 2007 debut, Emergency Powers, was refreshingly unique – not to mention clever enough to earn a hard look from Doom, who contributed one of the disc’s freshest joints.

With the second official SCFB disc dropping soon, the good folks at Backwoodz Studioz are offering some pretty hefty mixtapes for free. If you dig inventive and conceptual hip-hop – then get acquainted. There’s the interim project, Indonesia, which dropped a few months ago, and a new album from the label’s in-house producer Willie Green, who those of you from Boston might know from work he did with such cats as Jake the Snake and Reks before moving to NY and hooking up with Super Chron.

I have to hand it to you Doom fans – you’re a seriously devoted bunch of nerd pies. Anyone who has the audacity to look beyond liner notes and question who really produced a track is good in my book, which comes out late 2010, by the way.
