Beginning To Contemplate My 2009 Year-End Hip-Hop Album Round-Up
Posted on September 24, 2009 by Chris Faraone

It’s fucking September already! That means in a few months we’ll be forced into buying holiday gifts that we can’t afford, just so that other people can in turn buy us shit that they can’t really swing either.
In my experience, the only great thing about approaching one more year of misery is reminiscing on the hip-hop that recently was. The problem with that, however, is the sheer impossibility of catching everything (so be sure to holler about my glaring omissions in the comments).
For your use and mine – since I’m already beginning to calculate my year-in-review – I’ve put together links for my 2009 write-ups so far. Obviously I’ve heard a lot more discs than these (you don’t have to remind me about LCN, etc.), but I only review projects that I like, so this is a good starting point for what’s sure to be a never-ending discussion…
Aztech – Reel Drama Presents: Dusty Stereo
Shuko + DJ Dutchmaster - The Foundation
Amadeus the Stampede - House of Broken Mirrors
Quite Nyce & Raydar Ellis - Champs vs. The League
Brother Ali - The Truth Is Here
Marco Polo & Torae - Double Barrel
Rite Hook – E.ye A.ssume D.amage
Trife Diesel – Better Late Than Never
Sollilaquists of Sound – No More Heroes
Fresh Daily - The Gorgeous Killer In Crimes of Passion
