Oh Wale, you’re so cool. Not only did you get LRG to sponsor your latest mix tape, but you made sure this one showed off just how many people you know in the industry. Talib Kweli, Joell Ortiz, State Property, Bun B, Torae, Black Thought, Skyzoo, Royce da 5′9″, K’Naan…hell, you even pulled Memphis Bleek out of the corner Hova put him in and got him behind the mic again. To top it off you got production whore #1 9th Wonder to provide beats for the whole damn thing. Wow, a whole album produced by 9th Wonder? Nobody’s done that since Buckshot, or before that Jean Grae, or Murs before that, or Splash before that, or Skyzoo before that, or Kaze, or Little Brother…
But that doesn’t mean this tape isn’t dope. It is, quite dope. I know some of y’all out there don’t care for Wale, but for varying reasons–some due to quality of music, others due to lack of any credible competition–I think Wale is the shit. “Um Ricka” with K’Naan is undeniable evidence.

Wale really is the worst of the worst. Dude has some decent ideas, but he simply can’t entertain on the mic. As for 9th, I remain a fan. About to check this out.
