that was the night I was introduced to Van Stylez officially. I also met On & On in an audible environment too, I dont remember how I came to be the camera man, but I do remember being rather uncomfortable right after the body slam. I thought it was a joke until the moment of impact.

Just previous to this debacle was the 40 oz. drinking contest Treez mentioned with Ughh staffers and Tame One – who threw up on the stage. For the record, JTTS staffers took home the Bronze Silver and Gold –

Bronze – The Dance
Silver – DJ ON&ON
Gold – Robbed Really

That classic footage exists, but never saw the light of day – like a majority of Treez/ON&ON best work.

I last saw Van Stylez at the Harvard Square subway stop. The exchange went like this:

ON&ON – Hey, where are you coming from?
Van Stylez – Harvard Square.

The rest is hazy.

I am in a way thankful videos like this exist – depicting myself in a loathsome, lonely, lackluster existance in the world of hip hop…My 12 year old son has viewed this video – as well as “Truck Stop Tantrum” among others showing me at my most pitiful moments – and he is 100% certain that he wants to be a pharmacist when he grows up. For him, a career in the music industry or radio is slightly less appealing than a career as a professional necrophiliac – and for that I am thankful.

Yeah, I see your point Trees. I would like to believe I put money in rappers pockets too, as well as UGHH staff. My point was I can go online to get my fix but there’s nothing like being there, linking up with heads(or not), digging through new releases and general loitering.(wasn’t that the purpose of the couch?) But enough of that, capitalists we are. Still miss it though, no DRS.

Well – they are still around. So they are doing something right. Even if the cultural aspect of their whole operation is non-existent.. they still put $$ in rappers pockets. And it’s a capitalistic society. So their is nothing wrong on that lvl.

I really hate that there is no retail presence at UGHH. Recordheads need watering holes and UGHH was a different atmosphere than the Looney Tunes/Skippy Whites/Cheapos.
I went in there about three weeks ago to cop the Flying Cut Sleeves DVD and dude told me to go on the computer and order it and it would be shipped.
What kind of cinnamon toast crunch shit is that.
Granted dude was new and all but damn man.
Bring back the retail portion. I know online brings in the most revenue but culture trumps that shit. Even if you have to move locations to make it happen, do it.
