Swag Toof + James Von Dant – Let’s Be Friends?

Damn – the Trees administration is already wrought with controversy.

After posting comments from SWAG TOOF and James Von Dant in my already legendary CEO blog post (Here) – they took to Twitter to try to decipher my ramblings.

While Swag Toof (seen above) and my personal hip hop hero MC SOLE seemed to appreciate the humor, the Von Dant household was still none too pleased with the kid…

ESTEEMED BOSTON GLOBE JOURNALIST MARTIN CABALLERO IS IN CHARGE OF OUR ADVERTISING REVENUE AND HE IS MIA, SORRY WE BLOG FOR FREE. WE DON’T LIVE OFF THIS BLOG OR RAP ANYMORE… WE GROWN (RAP FAILURES).

I really want to hate on you James Von Dant .. but..

    Ouioja Toof was PISSED, dude.

Seriously, I watched the video, and the good that struck out to me was the fact this kid is absolutely capable of making a hit record. He’s great with words, flow, writes catchy shit, and puts stuff together in a slick way. All huge positives.

The major problem here is the accent. JVD, keep it real, when you and your boys are dressed in your prep school social dance outfits toasting beers in the kitchen, you don’t speak to them in that accent, do you? It would be hilarious if you all spoke in that accent. It’s overkill. It doesn’t make sense…especially as your cruising by Blanchards sounding like your BG on a bender.

The lyrics and catchy flow was all great. If you did it in an accent that suits the guy we’re looking at, you’d be on your way to being the next Sammy Adams – and I say that with all due respect.
