R Kelly Lives Up To All My Expectations
Saw the god Kellz last night.
I don’t know if I’m angry or completely blown away..
R. Kelly came on stage in Winston-Salem and literally performed one lyric. One lyric. He then invited all the women on stage. He then proceeded to smoke several cigars, a blunt of weed, and drink an entire bottle of what appeared to be chardonnay, possibly an expensive champagne. The DJ, who was named DJ Eagle, played his hits, remixes, and then went into a bunch of hood rap music for the remainder of his time on stage. R Kelly remained on stage for over an hour, swaying back and forth, dancing with women, slapping hands of the audience. The entire time, a packed house was gripping at the chance that they would hear another word emanate from the mouth of R.Kelly.. that word never came.
He didn’t perform another lyric and disappeared into a limo waiting for him outside. Several people paid upwards of $2000 for VIP Bottle Service for this event, while others paid approximately $500. The majority of the audience paid a cool $55 per ticket.
I left feeling somehow fulfilled, and somewhat swindled. I was just scammed by R. Kelly – but in a lot of ways I would expect nothing less. Actually, I did expect nothing less. I expected him not to even show. In a lot of ways he just invented a whole new scam.. Showing up and not showing up. I may not like it, but god damn do I respect it.
P.S.

Sounds like a classic case of the promoter telling the artist one thing, and the audience another.
I bet they paid Kells an “appearance” fee…something like 5 stacks to chill for an hour…then turned around and advertised the shit as “An evening with R. Kelly”.
Same thing I’m trying to plot with Bobby Brown @ Hip Hop Trivia.
How was the rest of the night in Winston-Salem…and by that, I mean, did you enjoy your meal at the Waffle House?

Mainly on the strength of R. Kelly though.

Would’ve been a must see show, and I’m sure a more profitable one if he was allowed to pee on the on the groupies on stage.
