GZA Lecture @ Harvard [Audio]

My homie and Crypt keeper himself Vega was in the audience for last Thursday’s lecture by the Genius at Harvard and recorded this 3-part audio track of GZA’s talk. He gives a basic autobiography of his beginnings in hip-hop, breaking through with Wu-Tang after his stint at Cold Chillin’ and general thoughts about music and his approach. Big shouts to Vega for getting this historic one-of-one lecture on tape.
The GZA has been in Boston the past fews days visiting the most elite schools in the country picking scientists and other genius brains. The other day he stopped by Harvard University and gave a lecture for the Black Mens Forum and basically told the story of his life. The Crypt was in the place to be and we we’re taking video which was prohibited…. Sadly our video was shot basically at the wall but I was able to extract the audio for your listening pleasure. I wasnt able to catch the whole thing but I got about 30 mins of the event. It was a really cool event and it was really nice to hear the story of the GZA from the GZA.

odd how he talks about rappers not collaborating in person to write songs and using pro tools to send verses…that was one of the major complaints about GZA on Iron Flag and I think also on 8 Diagrams, that he wanted to work alone and just sent finished verses to RZA via Pro Tools.
